Building your Photography Business by Fiona
The first segment of Bloom workshops will provide all the necessary tools and strategies you need to successfully launch and grow a photography business. Fiona will share her experiences on starting up a photography business and provide insights into building an effective brand.
This segment will cover:
The Initial Setup – the resources and initial investment costs you will need to organize your business.
Branding – getting clients and referrals through effective branding.
The Service Side of Photography – the importance of understanding your Clients and to provide excellent service from point of enquiry to the delivery of photos.
Pricing – how to value your work.
Bringing Out The Natural Side of Your Subject by Anna
During this section of the workshop, Anna-Rina will be sharing her ‘secrets’ on making your subjects feel at ease when they’re in front of the camera despite it being their first time. Tips on interacting with your subjects – how to pose them, how to talk to them and most importantly, bringing out the best in them. If you’ve always found it difficult to talk to people whilst shooting them, this section of the workshop would definitely help you see a new light when it comes to shooting portraiture.
Show me the Light! by Grace
Interested to know how to make your bride look slimmer?
Find it difficult to shoot once the sun goes down?
How about lighting a group of 50 people in a dark church?
Mastering lighting is one of the keys to making your photography better. Grace will share her experiences and techniques on available and artificial lighting while making the session practical and easy to understand. You will see things in a different light after this session!
Baby Photography by Asther
This segment of the BLOOM workshops will focus on helping you understand the important techniques & tips of photographing a baby using natural light. Some of the topics to be covered will be (but not limited to):
How to see the “light”– using available light & how to use it to your advantage
Posing & Composition – how to position your model to achieve a natural pleasing look in your images
Interaction – how to interact with your model to build a natural expression for an impactful image
Props Setting – how to set up your props & props choice
Business Sense – how to build your business, how to market it, how to deal with clients (baby’s parents) & how to increase bookings.
Post-Processing by Fiona
The last segment of the workshop will cover the post-processing workflow after a photography shoot. Fiona will demonstrate the basic tools and techniques used to correct and/or digitally enhance an image using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.
UPDATED: Due to a number of requests, we are now offering a FREE 2 hour basic photography class to confirmed participants on a separate date prior to the workshop. Beginners are encouraged to attend this class.
